I wonder if this wasn''t a bit of a mistake?
Anyway, i still don''t quite understand why ''Keep it dark'' didn''t become as big as i hoped they would do?

There are a couple of songs on this album that transport you to another place.
Not many bands are capable of doing that, and the James Taylor influences may be responsible for this in some measure?
But it''s JT influence and not style mind you - the style is very much a rock band with a touch of synthetic ambience - very 80''s.

80''s but capable of transcending a passing phase - First down and 10 still sounds very fresh and listenable.
Not many albums can do that either, and i think this is down to the song writing quality.

Quality has staying power, which only makes me ask the question again: Why didn''t it happen for Keep it dark?

If i where to make a guess, i would bet that it was a close run thing; a narrow line between a commitment by their record company to stick with them or let them fail. In short, i would bet it was down to some dick in a suit.

And what do they know about music?

A blast from the past.....

An excellent reminder of a blast from the past. I saw Keep It Dark in May 1986 when they supported Talk Talk on their UK Tour. Standout track is Dreamer....and I do keep dreaming 😊
